We are all aware of the heavy investment and resolutions around the power sector regarding distribution in Nigeria Lagos especially and research have shown that roughly 60% of power users in Lagos State are estimated to still be unmetered and this as it where is affecting the last mile distribution of power to customers.

For the singular fact that this problem haven’t been resolved has prevented the supply of constant and stable power and guess what, it has been causing lots of revenue leakages and significantly affecting the trust the people have in the system.

So what’s the purpose for the Lagos Smart Meter Hackathon

The Eko Innovation Centre (with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as Title Sponsors) has the intention to promote endeavors which will provide affordable meter to the people of the state by enabling a meter design hackathon to improve power or electricity distribution and helping to monitor and prevent revenue leakage.
